In case you know people looking for worK:

US Postal service starts at $20/hr, I believe, with benefits after 3 months & raises yearly until meet cap then just cost of living raises after that- plus a great health plan options and retirement & pension plans, - if you decide to switch to another job... or you know anyone who is looking, as they are hiring. Let them know you want to go into management as they are desperate for supervisors (& you make a lot more). There also is shift work if you like working nights. They also are desperate for people for maintenance if you know anyone handy in mechanics. Each craft has its own requirements for the positions so they would have to check online.

USIS are also looking for people who want to be Postal inspectors & postal police, but they have to be between 21-37, have a clean drivers record, be a US citizen AND have a college degree, and willing to travel.

Most just go across the street. Better almost everything, and a lot of the factory work crosses over cuz it's another factory. Just milk and milk products instead of sprayers
However, both are 12 hour shifts and the one has a department where the schedule shifts. So you'll be four on three off at night and the next week it'll be three on four off during the day. Yuck

You sound like you're ready to become a lead. I mean they kind of depend on your when the usual lead is out. Do they have like a vice lead position? Or assistant lead? Might be good to tee you up to be next for a position.

Postal Inspector might be interesting. I saw a movie about it once. Don't know how much artistic license they gave it, but it was a lot more interesting than I imagined. I take that back, I think I remember seeing another one about Postal Inspectors in the late 1800's or early 1900's. Lot's of gun slinging back then! (Or more artistic license.)

They don't have any assistant positions here. At least not with us peons
And when lead's out during the days one of the office workers is supposed to handle his job, and anything for nights in regards to computer involvement is supposed to be supervisor/material handler pending what's needed. My supervisor is just lazy in that aspect and fobbed it off on me

hmmm sounds to me like your work is making you very useful, which means you are more valuable.

I really doubt that anyone who does not interact with my shift on a regular basis is even aware of what I can do, which would be the higher-ups who would have a word to me and supervisor about it if they did. And not a good one

Yesterday when I was on a line and people were coming over to me cuz they needed extensions and I get thrown to those a lot to see if I knew anything about them makes sense, at least. Especially with the most senior of my area on second being out cuz he's lazy like that lol

My default thoughts are if you do the job, you should be paid for working at that level. I understand how it goes, but sometimes it takes letting people who have influence know you'd like to move up. You'd be surprised.

Yeah it's like $3 more but half the responsibilities at minimum
Possibly even less. I really should compare the two and be all "why am I paid more printing when they have a quarter the responsibilities of [my area]?"
