I made fully home made with a recipe when I was around 13, and it turned out okay. But I tend to need salt to a degree because ironically I have a tendency for /low/ blood pressure! It's funny when dad and I eat, 'cause he can't have a lot of salt and when I'm in one of the bad stages that my blood pressure's like 'lol eat pure salt please' it feels weird ;-;
I have never tried that in all honesty. The more customary in my area is to eat them with applesauce or sour cream I believe...But I can imagine maple syrup going well with them~ o3o
I tend to like mine plain or with applesauce. Mostly plain.
Hehe, we tend to have a lot of sour cream and cream cheese in our culture I think xP My dad was pointing out it's mostly Jewish people particularly from certain areas that put cream cheese on their bagels like I prefer. In some places like Germany it's more normal to use butter.
Butter is okay on bread but...On bagels!? *culture shock*
I prefer egg bagels the most, but nowadays we get these bagel thins at the grocery store that are really good for everything xD I use them for egg salad sammiches sometimes and stuff.
bagels are goo but sooooo many calories... the "thin" bagels at least give you the taste with half the calories. I have to confess that I like even my bagel for my sandwiches toasted.
I don't like things toasted much. Mostly because unless my dad makes it since he knows I only like it very lightly toasted, it's usually too crisp for me >w< I hate crispy stuff. Mostly.
Toasting can sometimes make things too dry to swallow - I don't like my sandwiches toasted, unless it is bagels because it warms the bagels but not making it dry - or if I make grilled cheese sandwiches (in the frying pan not the toaster oven).
