I don't think I have ever worked anywhere that does not allow some music, radio or "elevator" music. So long as it isn't blasting.

My summer job, but theme park provided their own music (mostly, one store had a stereo so it ran off of CDs someone made. One was damaged so a few songs were kinda skippy) that looped something like twice an hour so by the end of your shift you were sick and tired of the music
Being in glow meant I got to wander through the different music zones and not deal with that pain tho

Isn't your work room floor noisy? It would seem like it would be noisy to me, how do you hear music if it is noisy?

I don't have the summer job, so it's irrelevant now
But at work now, we are allowed speakers/radios for music. The volume is just higher than the general ambient noise

i don't like a lot of noise, I work better in quieter environments.
