It really sucks!
I don't go out much but I can't not go to school...
Last year when I had it I also developed hives which was extremely unpleasant and even after it getting bad enough for me to go to hospital they still didn't give us an answer of what happened. 'She's allergic to the tonsillitis medicine' 'It was her body's reaction to the infection' a clear answer would've been nice guys
And the year before that, I got it while on holiday. In Japan.
Had to go to a Japanese hospital to get a Japanese prescription for Japanese medicine.
It was a confusing process. The nurse lady spoke English but since I had my hair tied up and my pony tail was kinda hidden she though I was a boy. Not so funny when your exhausted and can't talk. (Dont worry. I wasn't there alone XD I had my dad)
And I really don't want to get it again this year because I'm going to Japan again and I really want them taken out because I'll be in the snow and cold.
Last year I asked if they could take them out and they just said: 'They aren't big enough to be a problem'

I really for bad for you.
Is that what the doctor told you? That your tonsils weren't big/bad enough to have them removed? I think having tonsillitis year after year is a very good reason!

They think i'll grow out of it but i don't want to suffer until then

Chronic tonsillitis is a reason to have them removed over here and if you are over 13 and still getting tonsillitis they recommend they be removed. When you get older you can still get the strep throat.

Well then i'm certainly persisting to get them out this year

It's annoying me how i have this one friend that hasn't been at school for the past 2 days because he has a 'sore throat'
And i'm still sitting here in class

I have had strept throat and chronic tonsillitis since I was a kid. It was so bad that I would go in for an eye infection, or a twisted ankle or something and they would look in my mouth and want to test me for strept throat.

I had gone in for getting tested for mono one time though and the dr thought I had strept throat instead. Turned out I had both, mono and strept type c and they treated rhat strept and my tonsils shrunk since then! they are still large but I havent gotten a sore throat in two years!

before you get them out maybe have the doctor's test for which TYPE of Strep throat you have and see if the RIGHT medication clears it up - like it seems to have had for Diana.

After surgery your throat is VERY sore until it heals up. (Worse then any sore throat) and its not that you won't get a sore throat again, you just won't have the swollen glands blocking your throat.

Ouch. But still... It's annoying and i'm sick of going to the doctor!
I've never heard of strep... Is that a different term or..?

Strep is short for streptococcus bacteria.

I'd rather not take the chance of whether i'll grow out of it or not because i likely will but i don't know how long that'll take.. I'd rather just have them gone.
