Celestron is a great brand for telescopes and other astro gear!! My first telescope was from Celestron and it was a pretty good size for $80 (still don't know how I convinced my parents to get me one for my birthday xD)
There's a cute travel telescope that's about $45 - $60 I think? Astro gear doesn't come cheap (if you want it to actually work that is), but I'd say celestron has good prices for what they sell.
An Australian retailer might be worth looking at, but in my experience, shopping in Oz has always been more expensive. The crazy thing is I bet all of this stuff is made in China, yet it costs more to buy it directly. :/

It will cruise by at a safe distance of 4.4 million miles or about 18 times the distance between the earth and the moon, NASA said. This is the closest that Florence has been since 1890 on its travels through the solar system, according to the agency, and will not come this close again until after the year 2500.
I think I may have seen it! Now I will have to check it out tonight - I was wondering what it was twinkling out there (it didn't look like the "normal" stars twinkling)
Ah, it's just gonna be a quiet holiday for me. Gonna spend some quality time with friends and fam before I head back to uni :0
Sorry bout that sudden hiatus, aha. School and settling in took so much energy out of me that I laid low til now (and just in time for the event too, haha!)
Hope you will be able to finish the event before going back to school. How's the student life going? Were you able to see all your friend's at the holiday's?
