I just focus on helping my community & making it a place that we can appreciate living in. The rest is out of my hands, out of my pocket book, out of my abilities to do anything. So long as I can etch a small place that I can help make better, I am okay.

At least the US is not conscripting people to fight in war & joining up is still a choice. I feel for the poor Ukraine who have lost a whole generation either to death, crippling or mental PTSD now. I would hate to live there. There are always other places that have it worse so I have to look at what I can be thankful for.

I hate this time of year. It's probably seasonal affective disorder. Just get random bouts of feeling dread. I found myself about to cry for no reason. The stress overwhelms me. I do enjoy the time with family, it's just hard.

Probably because it also is the end of the year ... I get that... but I try to remind myself there is hope for the new year & lots of good can still be ahead... not sure if that is what you mean.

Idk if it's helpful, but maybe have a good cry right before the new year, just get out all your frustration about the year you've had, and start fresh when the new year begins?

Maybe. I also don't think it's Christmas, either, as I still feel the dread and it's over with now. Maybe it's the end of the year, idk. But I'm trying to find ways to distract myself til it passes over.

Maybe you have the gift of empathy & are feeling something is about to happen or that someone is struggling & needs an encouraging word.

Someone I know is having cancer surgery on Friday and I am worried about her so I think that is where my uneasiness is coming from.

Keeping your mind occupied can be a good thing.
