I don't think the moon ever had lakes. The "seas" or "mare" as Gallileo called them, looked like possibly water to him, but are actually the result of big impacts.

I bet learning that left a big impact on how we viewed it!

LOL, I think the realization that these huge impacts also happen on earth (and wipe out most living things) affect our underlying psyche much more!

I'm glad that we're looking on possible solutions, but I'm not so sure we understand enough not to get into/cause trouble for ourselves.

I missed seeing the hunter moon rising last night, it was still a full moon but not big like when it first rises.
