Both my parents, my brother and s.o. all had to have their gallbladder removed. My mom got jaundice and had a really rough time. My brother also had a rough time but both of them found out when they went to the ER and then needed surgery immediately.

oh no! Anyone I have spoken to that had their gall bladder out didn't seem to have done to bad - other then recovering from surgery, they all did lose weight afterwards though...and then years later gained it back.

I'm glad you don't know anyone who have a rough time with it. I talked with my grandmother and she assured me that it's a pretty routine surgery. She hasn't had issues herself but her sister didn't do well with it either. She also reminded me of the horrible time my dad went through because he was being stubborn and didn't see anyone about his pain until it got so bad my mom had to call the ambulance. But I'm rather confident that it was caught it in time that I'll just have to deal with the recovery time.

The gall bladder diet works for me in lessening pain but I have never been diagnosed with gall stones and I hear that is much different then just inflammation. Do you have to get your kidney's checked for stones too? How about your salivary ducts in your mouth, do you get dry mouth? I heard B6 and Manganese keep the stones at bay...ask your doctor about it maybe it could help or you could try it but check for any contraindications if you take medications already.

I'm not sure. Have to wait and see what the doctor says, appointment is on the 30th. I thirsty a lot of the time but not sure if that's the same thing. The NP at the pain specialist was very concerned but I'm not sure how knowledgeable she is in this area.

so much we take for granted - it is amazing so many babies are born without any problems.

Did you have any trick or treater's tonight?

We had a good amount of trick or treater's. The first set of kids passed my house and I was worried intially that I'd be skipped over for not having any decorations up. But it only seemed to be that group. They might have came by later, who knows.
How did you fare?

We never get any...they all congregate on the streets that have a lot of houses - those people get slammed with them. Sometimes I feel like I should donate candy to those houses because it must cost them a lot.

But we had treats at work and my boss put up spider balloons and such to decorate so the customers got a kick out of that - and I did really good at controlling myself limiting my sugar intake I am proud to say.

Good for you! I have to watch it too with the gallstones and all. I saw my new primary care doctor this week and he didn't seem concerned about it since I wasn't in pain. He hasn't seen the MRI report yet so don't know if his opinion will change.

that sounds like it could be a good sign if you aren't having pain...I think they can dissolve sometimes on their own can't they? It would be great if you don't have to have surgery!
